Sterling Silver Sparkling Paste Swag Necklace

Late Victorian sterling silver swag necklace set with gorgeous sparkling Old Mine-cut close-backed white paste stones. The pastes are in excellent condition. Circa 1880.

It is the foil backing that gives paste stones and closed-back pieces their unique beauty. This foil is prone to breakage and disintegration and is almost never replaceable. It is very moisture-sensitive, so to clean, use only a soft, dry brush and cloth.
